What is your Red Sea? By Pastor Job

In Exodus 14:15-16, God commands Moses to raise his staff and hands over the red sea. A great wind came and divided the red sea overnight. God did the miracle but Moses had to play his part in being obedient.

I was meditating on this portion of scripture about why God asked Moses to raise his staff and his hand over the Red Sea, God didn't need any help from Moses but why? I asked the Holy Spirit to guide me.

These three key points came to me as I was meditating upon it;

1. Moses's action was act of obedience.

The act of raising the staff and his hand was an act of obedience. God used Moses as an instrument while doing the miracle. Of course God can do it by himself but God used him as an instrument. His obedience resulted in God doing the impossible to be possible.

At the same God was reminding His children that He had appointed Moses to be their leader and that God was with him, so that no one would undermine his leadership. The staff signified authority and leadership.

2. Moses had to exercise his faith.

You see Moses never would have heard about the departing of the Red Sea before nor would he have seen it before. So when God told him that He was about to depart the Red Sea, he had to exercise his faith in him, that is to believe that what God had said will happen.

In Romans 12:3, Paul talks about how God has given each one of us a portion of faith. We have to exercise this faith daily in our lives as we face challenges and difficult circumstance. We must first learn to believe before it happens.


3. Moses had to exercise his God given authority.

No one has authority over nature but God. God wanted Moses to participate in the impossible to be possible. God had given him authority and God wanted him to use the authority by raising his staff and hand.

In the same manner in our lives God has given us authority, in Matthew 18 and Luke 10:19 Jesus talks about that. As children of God we have to exercise our God given authority whenever we face problems and challenges, we must learn to speak words of life.

We must not give room for fear and doubt and but learn to believe.

The good on waiting by Pastor Job

We all go through seasons of waiting in our life, waiting for our prayers to be answered, waiting for a miracle or a breakthrough. Waiting is no fun nor is it exciting but God brings us through a season of waiting.

Too often there is a negative perception about waiting as we live in a fast world. We want things to happen according to our timetable and we want things to happen fast.

But I wanna encourage you today and remind you that there is good in the waiting.It is in the waiting that we learn to be patient and it is in the waiting that God deals with our anger, impatience, frustration and disappointment.

Why God brings us through a season of waiting?

waiting help us to avoid mistakes in our life. Too often we rush into making decisions and sometimes those decisions may not be wise decisions when we look back.

Waiting brings clarity in the midst of confusion. Too often there is confusion in our lives not knowing where to go or what direction we should head but God brings us through that season of waiting so that he can bring clarity.

God also brings us through a season of waiting so that He can prepare us for what is coming. So that we can learn new skills and be ready for that opportunity or that responsibility.

So today I wanna encourage you that if you are in a season of waiting, don't give up, continue to pray and press in God and in due time you will see God answering your prayers.

Growing in my relationship with God by Pastor Job

Our relationship with God is our lifeline, it helps us to grow and become mature in our life. Every relationship needs to be nurtured and strengthened in our life. For it to be nurtured and strengthened we need to

1.Spend time,
2.Put effort, show our appreciation.
3.Being grateful.
4.Communication.
5.Respect

Any relationship that is not looked after or is missing one of these five elements suffers and if it is not looked after or improved that relationship will soon come to an end.

In the same manner our relationship with God needs to be looked after. Because it is through our relationship with God that we receive

a) Hope
b) guidance
c) He sustains us to face the unexpected situations in life.

So I wanna encourage you to spend time in prayer, reading your bible, and find ways to strengthen your relationship with God.

Living for God by Pastor Job

Living for God is one of the best things that a person can do in their life. It brings great fulfilment. But unfortunately we tend to live based on our thinking, emotions and desires based on ourselves and sometimes they may not be in alignment with the word of God as a result of that we might live a life that is unfulfilling, bad desires can lead to bad live, bad decisions can lead to bad live and so on. So it is really important to bring in alignment our thoughts, our emotions and our desires with the word of God.

The Three Words

Where are you?

Interesting it is to read in Genesis, God reaching out to Adam and asking him "where are you?" The all powerful, all knowing, ever present, self sustaining God reaches out to humanity for fellowship. 

The three words shows the depth of God's heart for his creation. God didn't abandon the world after creation and after the fall but rather he let it run according to his plan and purposes.

In Genesis we can see God intervening to bring judgement for the wickedness of man that was growing and it came to such an extent that God wanted to stop it with a flood. Only one man found favor in the eyes of God and it was Noah. (Genesis 6:8)

Though God wants fellowship with his creation but he does not tolerate sin in anyway and He dealt with the sin of humanity through Christ Jesus. 

Our relationship with God has been restored through Christ Jesus. Through our relationship with God we have fellowship. And it is this fellowship that enables us to know more about God. 

As we have fellowship with God daily we come to a greater understanding about His character, a greater appreciation of His love towards us.  

Walking with God daily is fellowship with God, it is an amazing experience that everyone should be able to do. The fundamental thing about fellowship is conversation. Have you had a conversation with God today?

Conversation in today's term, what I mean is have you said 'hi to God' in prayer. Literally as followers of Jesus Christ, no day should pass by without saying 'hi'.

The fact that God asked Adam 'where are you?' is the same question that I believe God is asking all of us. It is through this conversation (prayer) that we can see God speaking to us through the Holy Spirit and His word.

Often we ask God, where are you? in painful, confused, desperate, anxious, fearful moments but the reality is God has been asking this question all along "where are you?' 

It is through our relationship and fellowship with God that enables us to walk through the painful, confused, desperate, fearful and anxious moments. 

No doubt that as we have a living relationship with God, God will protect us from walking down the path of pain, confusion and fearfulness where it can be avoided. 

While some moments are destined for us to grow, to mature and to come out stronger with God by our side. 

I encourage you my friend as you are reading this, may your relationship with God be stronger and may you be encouraged. 

God's Plan For Our Life

Proverbs 19:21 Many are the plans in a man's heart but it is the Lord's purpose that prevails."

God has a plan for all of our lives, no matter what age, gender, race or country we are from. The best thing about God's plan is that His plan never fails. He sees everything from the beginning and the end. Perhaps today you are at a stage that you are confused about your life, not sure what to do next but don't worry you just need to follow God's lead. 

We all have different plans for our life, its good to have a plan but make sure that God is in the plan as well. Don't leave God outside the plan of yours. Sure enough sometimes our own plan fails or we go through a series of disappointment and that is no surprise to God. Sometimes we go through disappointment so that we will learn to trust God's plan for our life.

No matter what you have gone through in your life, God's plan for your life can never be defeated. What He has planned will be accomplished. Learn to trust God in the most challenging times and He will bring clarity into your life. He will help you to make the right decisions, He will bring the right opportunities in your path to move you forward.

What is impossible to men is possible to God. Though we have our own limitation in our thinking and perhaps even our surrounding but nothing can limit God. Nothing can overrule God's plan for your life, you just have to have an open mind before God and allow Him to lead gently. He will be with you in every step that you take. 

Let no confusion prevail but let the peace of God protect you and guide you in every step. Surrender everything to the Lord, pray about it and walk boldly and confidently that God will guide you and is guiding you. 

Prayer, it either changes You or Your circumstance

What does Prayer do? at times it feels like its the only thing you can do while doing your best with everything that you can do. Sometime we pray for certain outcomes that we want God to perform, while we are praying we are also hoping in faith that our prayer will be answered with the outcome that we are wanting.

And sometimes it may not be God's will in regards with the desired outcome that we are hoping for. While we pray, God uses the prayer to change the desire in our hearts to match according to His will and that is if we are in a right attitude towards Him. This might happen gradually or instantly. The thing that I have noticed with myself is that, it is gradually taking place.

At the same time God wants to change our circumstance and our life with what He feels best for us. It could be that God answered our prayers with the desired outcome that we were hoping for. Which ever happens, it really depends on how strong you are really holding on to God and how much time you are willing to spend time on prayer.

My dad's vision and mine

I called my dad the other day and he mentioned about how he was going to Singapore for a couple of days to preach in a church and to meet couple of well known preachers. The purpose of his visit was to invite one of those preachers for the upcoming conference that he is organizing in South Africa.

My dad has this vision of how there should be unity in the body of Christ and that the body of Christ should be joined in together in unity so that the coming of the Lord can take place. Today we cant see much of unity in the body of Christ. From denominational barriers to personal conflicts amongst pastors and leaders exist today. My dad's main aim is to promote unity in the Body of Christ, where every one comes together with one aim that is to have unity in Christ, forgetting all their personal conflicts and denominational barriers.

Over the years I have seen how my dad has taken hold of his vision and is running with it. Sometimes it has been challenging for us in the past as a family since he use to travel allot to meet with pastors and leaders locally and internationally to promote unity. He also organises conferences that brings pastors and leaders together with one aim that is to bring unity. In the past he has organized 3 conferences in 3 different countries and all of them have been successful in bringing together local pastors and leaders in unity.


He has been running with this vision for a while now and I still remember of how my dad use to pray allot in the night when I was a small boy. At that time I did not understand much but today I do. He would use to walk in the living room from left to right as he prayed. Today as I look back, I understand that how God gave him this vision and that was through prayer. My dad found his God given vision and His purpose in that. Not to mention also of how he used to fast two meals in a day for a whole year as he prayed for this God given vision to be fulfilled.


I am grateful that I am also a part in his God given vision as I am starting my early ministry years. But I cant say that God has given me a vision also. So far it has not been clear. I am praying that God will make it clear for me in the coming days. But I know that God has called me to preach His words of life. Nothing gives me the satisfaction that I get every time I preach God's word. Over the few months as I pressed on to God on finding what He wanted me to do, I have had dreams of prophesying to people and preaching His word to different nations and have received words of knowledge about that from respected servants of God.

I am going to stay in faith and do my best where God has placed me and I pray that God will make His vision clearer for me. Perhaps He has already done it and I just have to wait for the right timing for the vision to be fully birthed in my heart.
At this point of time I know that the vision is slowly taking root in my heart, praise be to God.

I pray and hope that you will find your vision from God.

Rhythm of Change ?

In the past few days, the weather has been getting colder. Its no surprise since we are entering into the winter season. Nature has a cycle of change or I would say it as the rhythm that God placed when He created the earth.

Just as nature having its own rhythm, we too have this rhythm in our life. The rhythm of change. When I say change it gives you a sense of joy at the same time a sense of uncertainty.

probably for you it could not be the case, but for me it is. For no one can be certain about the uncertainty unless they themselves travel along the same path that you are travelling.

The good thing about change is that it helps you to grow and to learn new things while on the other it places you in situations that you are not in control of. When we get use to our routine life we feel that we are so much in control of our own life.

The truth is we just got use to it so much so that we feel that we are in control. From the work that we do to the relationships that we have. Think about this, if you wake up tomorrow totally in a different place seeing different people, how would you feel?

But I believe that God places us in those situations, when we feel helpless, and it does not necessarily mean that you would be waking up in a different place but rather you will be placed in different situations where you are strecthed from your limits

Why ? because that's the place that we get to know God in a more meaningful way. Because when I am helpless and I have done all that I can to change my circumstance and nothing happens that's when I know that I am not in control but
God is and He is able to make all things work for good.


Maybe at the present time I am not sure how things would work out.
And sometimes fear and anxiety can infect a peaceful mind with lies and confusion. But every time I look to God, He fills me with the peace that surpasses all understanding.


I pray and believe that God will open up the right doors of opportunity for me. Do support me in your prayers.

Little Jordan

Today I had an experience that I could never forget in my life. Part of me still struggles to understand of why God had to allow this to happen . I went to the hospital to visit my friend. They are more like a family to me, they just recently welcomed a baby girl in their life.

The baby was named as Jordan and I had the privilege of holding the precious child in my arms. The baby went to be with the Lord before I even entered the ward to see the child. Her tiny eyes were closed, she was dressed with a white dress and was wrapped in a warm cloth. The pastor at that time took pictures of the baby for the family.

I also had the privilege to pray for the baby and I just asked God to bless her soul and that I thanked God for giving the family Jordan and that He was still with them in this difficult time.


As I was praying, deep inside my heart I could not understand where God was in this picture. A day before yesterday I was so confident that God was going to heal the child. But some times God chooses to work in different ways rather to what we expect Him to do for us. I know today that Jordan is in a better place because of the blood of Jesus Christ.


Death is a part of humanity, but really because Of Jesus Christ we continue to live on even though our earth suit gives up . This is faith and this is what keeps me going. It becomes a big shock to us when we walk these sort of path in life and it has certainly been for me. I will always remember Jordan who has inspired me to see how precious life is and that the very breath that we take in is from God.


I don't have the answers of why God took Jordan home early but I know that He is a faithful God and that everything that He does has a purpose. I know that one day God will reveal to us why this had to take place. Even as I write this, I wondered what could have happened if Jesus was there in that ward? The truth is, the Holy Spirit was there comforting each one of us, while Christ was binding the broken heart of the parent, and the Father shedding His tears for them.


The reason why I am writing this in my blog is that, its an alternative for me to share how I feel on the inside and that when I do that I feel lighter on the inside. I pray that God will comfort the family and help them to come through this grief process.

Amazed

Thank you Lord that you are continuously guiding me through to the place that you want me to be. I pray that you will be my strong anchor so that the wind and the storm do not misplace me from your plan.

My struggles and frustration, you alone know. My deep thoughts and my deepest fears you alone are aware of it. Every night when I look up to the sky, I stand amazed that you know every star by name.


I know that you care for me so much that I am not able to comprehend it fully sometimes but I pray that you give me the patience that I need.

Psalms 73:26 : My flesh and my heart my fail, but God is the Rock and firm Strength of my heart and my Portion forever.

Holding On

Been very confused lately. Hopefully things will get better.

Psalms 43:3 3 Send forth your light and your truth,
let them guide me;
let them bring me to your holy mountain,
to the place where you dwell.

His ways

Well just yesterday evening itself, I received a call from the place that I went for the interview in the morning. Not to my surprise, my application was not successful.

But before I got that call from the person who was dealing with my application. Got reminded me a verse from the bible from Isaiah 55:8-9. This was a new experience of God speaking to me like this.


"For my thoughts are not your thoughts
neither are your ways my ways,"
declares the LORD.

"As the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts.

(New International Version)

As I was thinking about this verse, the call came. Although at first I was discouraged when I heard that my application was not successful, but God somehow encouraged me to not to give up.

Later on the above verse comforted me in helping me to understand that it was not God's will for me to get that job.

Thank you Lord that you are always with me all the time and that you are working things for good even though I may not understand them.

But help me to understand Lord.

Getting Better

Went for the interview today, don't know how it is going to turn out. Perhaps didn't answer the questions well enough. Only God knows.

Just as I thought that things could not get any better, my car started to play up in the motor way, with the carburetor being blocked. Cant afford to spend money on my car as my resources is very limited at the moment.

Been trying for work for couple of weeks now, not much result. I really don't know what to do. God help me please !! guide me!

Rescued

Well just today as I was meditating on the word of God, I came across this verse :

Isaiah 51 :5 "The time for me to set you free is near.
I will soon save you "


This verse reminded me that God is always on time to answers our prayers. For the past few weeks, I have been spending much time in prayer. Each time He is reminding me that He is never too late in answering my prayers.

Although for us the answer seemingly takes time since we all want things to be done instantly and fast. But God knows what is best and when it is best to answer our prayers.

For us to see the answer, we need to hang in there and not give up. To often, I myself am tempted to give up on certain prayer requests but if I give up, I will definitely not see them answered.


We just have to keep walking through those valleys until we see God's salvation. But one thing is for sure that is God's salvation for us when we come through the valley.


I want to encourage you today, keep praying, don't give up! you will see God's salvation in time!

Unanswered ?

Well just today as I was reading my bible I came across this verse :

Isaiah 44:21 "Remember these things O Jacob, for you are my servant O Israel. I have made you, you are my servant; O Israel, I will not forget you".

Many times it feels as though God takes His time in answering our prayers. Basically He does take His time for good reasons I guess. But sometimes we all do feel that God has forgotten us when the challenges of life mounts up and as we go through pressures from all side.

But really during those times, God is still with us helping us to deal with those challenges one by one. I know in my own life at the moment, things are not very clear on what I should do next but I know that God is guiding me one step at a time.


This verse made me to realize that God has not forgotten me and my needs and that He is continuously guiding me everyday. Sometimes we all need this reminder from God. So I just want to encourage you today that God has not forgotten you !

Be encouraged, God is by your side even when it feels like He is not. He is there!

Unexpected ?

Well just today as I was driving my car, I found out that the car radiator was leaking. This was totally unexpected but thank God that I am still driving the car. Hopefully I would make it to the interview today.

There are so many day to day unexpected situations that we all face. Some brings us smile and some the opposite. Its easy to thank God when things go perfectly well and its really hard to thank God when it doesn't.

But really I guess, its all about coming to the place of experiencing God's unconditional love wherever we are at in our life and no matter how bad the situation maybe, God still loves us just the way we are.

I pray that I will lean on God and experience His unconditional love to a higher degree then now and I pray that you will too!.

Better oppourtinites mean you are better ?

Just on the long weekend. Me and my friends planned to go on a fishing trip. As I was waiting for my friends to get ready, I came across a particular program on the TV. I actually thought about this particular topic many times before but yet I continue to struggle with this.

This particular program focused on children living in the poor countries and how their future was very dim if there was no assistance for them.

It is said that 6 million children under five die every year as a result of hunger ! 34 million children between the ages of 7 to 18 have never been to school, 2 million children are believed to be exploited through the commercial sex trade and this list goes on ! check out this website http://www.care.org/campaigns/childrenpoverty/facts.asp

Now for those of us who are born in developed countries don't go through the circumstances that these children go through. Almost most of us have the privilege of going for a buffet breakfast, dinner and lunch. Some people eat so much until they have problems with their health on the other hand 6 million children starve to death each year?

Where is the balance ? do the rich countries live in the expense of the poor ?

Teenagers drop out of school when there is opportunity to study further but for the other children they don't even have the chance to go to school because of poverty.

Thinking about these things make me to wonder, just because we are in a developed country and have the resources to buy anything that we want, Does it makes us better then them ?

I am no better then those children who are struggling for food,education, love, and protection. Why ? We are all created in the image and in the likeness of God, we share the divine image no matter what culture or country we are from. Because we all came from God !

Yes God has blessed us with many things, how are we using those blessing to bless others. Remember that God has called us and made us to be a blessing for others.

Let us not take for granted with what we have, use it to make poverty history! Because those who suffer are our brothers and sisters. We are one as a family in Christ. We have been called to serve the poor and make a difference in their life in whatever ways we can!

Whats Next ?

Personally all of us go through those times of confusion now and then. God brings us into that place so that we would rely on Him for guidance. But in saying that, sometimes God's guidance does not come instantly. He takes His time in guiding us through on what to do next. Am I right ? Well at least for me!

But during that time, how are we responding to God ? Really, sometimes it feels like you are between two blocked walls that does not permit you to go anywhere. No matter what you try you still end up feeling like that. But it is in those times we really feel God speaking to us and encouraging us.

In the moment of confusion and distress, I get to experience God's peace when I make the decision to lean on Him. For most of us, we lean too much on ourselves as a result of that we go through those times of frustration.

Leaning on Him meaning that "believing that He will guide me always and meet my needs at all time" no matter how things seem to be. Looking back in the past, God has been faithful to guide me and meet my needs. And I don't think that God is about to fail to do that in the present because God cannot change.

Perhaps God works in our life through these situation to change us to become the person that He want us!

When Things Dont Work Out.

Its been a challenging couple of weeks, during this time I have been learning to be patient. Being patient is not easy when you get a lot of thoughts running into your mind of how the future will unfold if you don't take full control of your situation.

But on other hand God has been speaking to me, to trust Him with all my heart and not to lean on my own understanding. Many times I have to keep reminding myself about this verse, when I tend to get discouraged.

"Trusting God with all my heart" easy to say it but hard to put into practice when you mind keeps running up and down on how to sort things out. But I guess until I come to the place of complete rest, I cant really trust God. ( Be still and know that I am God) Psalm 46:10

So to trust God, I have to rest and submit everything into His hand. Again easy to say this but hard to really put into practice. But I guess it doesn't really matter how many times you fail to trust God but rather its about how God still holds us and sustains us in the midst of doubt and confusion. Until we come to the place of full resting and submission, we know He is still there for us!
